In Norway, it’s a beloved tradition to bake and enjoy 7 different types of cookies during the Christmas season. Simply put, you wouldn’t be a true Norwegian if you didn’t offer seven varieties of cookies at Christmas time. Why seven? It hasn’t always been this way. Historically, as many as nine or eleven types were prepared. This uneven number served as a status symbol reflecting the family’s prosperity. The seven Norwegian cookies from Perfectly Imperfect Norwegian Cookies include:
